Kyle Burgess and Karl Wright Receive the Mayor's Outstanding Volunteer Award

At the Marysville City Council meeting on Monday, October 26, 2026, Kismet volunteers Kyle Burgess and Karl Wright received the Mayor's Outstanding Volunteer Award. Their fellow members of the Marysville Auxiliary Communications Service (ACS) joined them for the recognition.

The City recognized Kyle and Karl for their significant contributions to Marysville's emergency communications program. Their technical work helps make sure ACS is ready to support the community when regular communications systems fail in a disaster.

Most of that work happens behind the scenes: programming radios, maintaining equipment, writing communications plans, and training with City Emergency Management and partner agencies. Just a few days later, the team put it to the test during the statewide CCE26 communications exercise, with Kismet serving as the incident command post outside the Marysville Civic Center.

Thank you to the Mayor, the City Council, and City of Marysville Emergency Management for the recognition, and to every ACS volunteer who gives their time to keep our community connected.
